ITINERARY: Throughout the trip, I hope to experience the reason why I want to go to Japan: to explore the anime world in Akihabara. Also, as a gamer, I hope to try out as many of the high tech gaming devices I could try in Japan. Although I will sacrifice many hours of transportation, I will finally experience what I've always longed for.
Because the trip takes 5 hours long, I will be waking up at 4AM to get on the train early.
At Akihabara, I will be eating at the KIMURAYAHONTEN AKIHABARAKANDAMYOUJIN, which will cost around 3,500 Yen, which will cost 35 dollars. It seems to serve some tasty beef.
After that, I will enter the Odaiba Joypolis to play video games for hours, which costs around $40 US dollars.
There are many games that I would love to play, such as car games, shooting games, and drumming games.
Here is a video that shows some of the amazing gaming experience that you can have at Joy Polis!

My love for anime will eventually take me to the Tokyo Anime Center. I will most likely try to get posters, action figures, and accessories that relate to my favorite anime, which are Naruto, One Piece, Kokoro Connect, Kuroko No Basket, and Tokyo Ravens.
MORE FOOD <3 JR Akihabara Station in Tokyo
The Tandoor Gar will cost around 900 -2000 Yen! YUMMY!
Of course, I will be heading back to AIU right after I eat at Tandoor Gar.
I wonder if it the train ride is smooth. Are all trains crowded throughout the whole day?
This is an ideal day for me once I reach to Akihabara, Tokyo.

Wow some of the arcade games are really different from those that we have here! I wonder what types of effects the driving games have. They could be very realistic if the enclosure moved according to the car's motion. The sports emulation games (like skateboarding and running) seem a bit odd but could be fun.
ReplyDeleteThis day sounds expensive, but seems like it will be a lot of fun! The video of the gaming experience at Joy Polis looks awesome!
ReplyDeleteThis sounds fun, I'd also love to visit the Tokyo Anime Center. If you want to come to ICU and try to find a place to stay for the night (I could probably find a friend you can stay with), then you wouldn't have to run around and try to catch the train back before the end of the night. Then, you could make it a weekend trip instead, and maybe explore Tokyo a bit more.
ReplyDeleteVu-san, I agree that the day sounds expensive (you may want to reconsider the "yakiniku" restaurant), but it also sounds like a lot of fun. I'm not familiar with the "new" Akihabara (or Akiba), so when I get to go I'll take advantage of some of the places that you mentioned. I'm glad that Siehl-san has offered to help you crash, but I hope that she makes sure that she follows the rules of the dorm (you may have to stay off-campus). It is very easy to get from Akihabara to ICU by train.
ReplyDeleteYou should also look into student discounts for transportation (consult with the international student office at AIU). Or you can try the overnight bus (yakou basu). It's not that comfortable, but you travel overnight and arrive in Tokyo early the next day. I just checked and it costs about $55 from Akita to Tokyo! Perhaps you can take the Shinkansen one way (just to experience it) and the overnight bus the other way.
Anthony, this sounds really interesting and fun! The restaurant you plan to head to looks pretty neat too, I hope you really enjoy the food there. Also, The Odaiba Joypolis looks like such an amazing place! The video showed some pretty cool looking interactive games (Now your making me want to visit there too). I hope you have a great time and I hope you find good things to buy at the Tokyo Anime Center!
ReplyDeleteThank you very much for writing such an interesting article on this topic. This has really made me think and I hope to read more. du học Nhật Bản
